Container management

Shipping container management software

From the first container bought from the carrier to the invoice sent to your customer, in one system. No side spreadsheet.

The problem is not volume. It is where the information lives.

Most shipping container operations run on one system for inventory, a spreadsheet for cost, WhatsApp for the gate and email for billing. Each piece works. The whole does not. When someone asks how much a specific container earned, the answer takes days — and is usually wrong, because repositioning, washing and storage never made it into the calculation.

  • Cost scattered across spreadsheets with conflicting versions
  • Nobody knows what is available at each depot right now
  • Margin lost between the carrier purchase and the customer delivery

The full cycle, in the order it actually happens

PortalBox follows the container from purchase to financial close. Each step feeds the next, and the result shows up per unit.

  1. Invoice

The purchase of containers directly from the carrier. This is where the cycle begins.

  2. Release

On arrival at the destination, it releases the container and creates the stock unit. Requires the invoice and the destination depot.

  3. Stock

The unit created by the release. It is virtual — which is what lets you sell or lease a container that has not arrived yet.

  4. Booking

The sale or lease, made against the stock unit. The physical container is not required yet.

  5. Container

The physical record: manufacturing number and date, weight, size. Assigned to that unit.

  6. Gate out

The withdrawal from stock for delivery. On leases, gate in records the return to the depot.

  7. Billing

Invoices issued straight from the system, with configurable discount, penalty and interest.
